Amazon will keep zShops listings until February
Amazon will keep zShops listings on life support through January 31, 2007:
Pro Merchants with zShops listings will continue to have access to their listings for reference until January 31st, 2007.
This change from the previously announced date of December 5th, 2006 was made to provide more time to Pro Merchants to migrate their zShops listings to Marketplace listings well after the Holiday selling season.
Pro Merchants can access their zShops listings via Seller Your Account > Manage Your Inventory > zShops Open listings. Please note that zShops listings will continue to not be visible by buyers on Amazon.com. Any changes to your zShops listings will not be reflected on the website. They are for your reference only.

Can you remind me why I became a Pro Merchant? This while thing is costly for the newbie who is trying to work her way up from flipper to seller.
There are two main advantages as I see it. First, once you list an item it stays up until sold. If you are NOT a pro-merchant it comes off after 60 days. Yes, you can re-list that and it might be fine if you have two dozen listings but who wants to re-list a 1000 titles? Second, as a pro-merchant you can add things to the data base if it isn't already there. And when you do that you will be the only one with that item (at least for awhile) and have a nice chance of selling it at a good price since you are the only one listing it.
But I don't have all the answers so there may be more reasons.
As to ZShops, I don't think I have anything in zShops so I have not paid much attention to this change. I'm assuming a zShop is like the ebay store and I don't have that either. I hope I'm okay.
I am sort of happy to see Z-shops go, myself. As a Pro-Merchant for six months (have sold online for six years at smaller venues like Bibliofind, then Abe, I moved to Amazon for sheer survival). At any rate, I Never DID figure out what Z-shops was all about. SUPPOSEDLY, when I uploaded my Abe inventory, anything without an ISBN went into Z-shops, but that wasn't totally true, because once when I ASSUMED an item wasn't on amazon (there were a few hunded that didn't load, and the system told me that), it also wasn't on Z-and it was, and I had to turn the customer down because I had sold it on abe. Z-shops was just more work, and you had to 'play' with the template to make CERTAIN it WAS off each time (not found with title, try author, not there, then try SKU. Then try deleting A, The, Of, and voila! it found it!). HATED this. I still sometimes have this problem finding something sold elsewhere when I want to delete from Amazon Marketplace, but not as much as with Z.
Anyone else have this experience. AM I doing something wrong I can correct?
Oh, I'm brand NEW to this site, too, and I gotta tell you, where oh where have you been in my selling life?
I think I want to be "anonymous 2."
