Amazon postpones change to order e-mails
Amazon will delete customer information from its "Sold, ship now" e-mails on May 30, not this week as previously announced.
We have postponed the "Sold, ship now" e-mail change to May 30. This allows both Amazon and sellers a little more time to prepare for and ensure a smooth transition.
Starting Wednesday, May 30, "Sold, ship now" e-mails will only contain the following information:
* Notification that a customer has purchased one of your products.
* The order ID.
* The quantity and product title of the item in the order.
We will no longer be including order details or information about the buyer, such as the buyer e-mail address.

I don't understand why so many people seem to be upset about the change to SSNs.
I always work from the "Your Marketplace Orders" link on my Seller Account page, and it's much faster and more efficient than using emails.
The SSN changes won't affect me at all.
A not mentioned fact is that Amazon will now be NOT providing the Seller with the Buyer's email address. They have said it is NOT going to be reinstated with the order information (as it used to be awhile ago) and will be dropped with the other Buyer's info on the email. Now the only way to contact the Buyer with shipping info, etc. is via Amazon's "contact Buyer" method, with its various restrictions, such as include no html or website addresses.
Note how Amazon has never quite mentioned what information is being "dropped" along with the email change.
It is a simple thing to email my customer a confirmation notice through Endicia, but now that won't be possible - I will have to copy and paste the confirmation into amazon's response system(and drop my web address). It will take longer to do, Amazon has more control over our orders, and sellers have less. BIG BROTHER will be watching. It's one more "little" thing they are taking away.
Did anyone notice that although Amazon gave us more postage allowance, they increased the closing fee, in essence, giving us nothing more?
To be precise, they raised the closing fee by $0.15, while charging the buyer an extra $0.50. So we get $0.35 more. Unfortunately this is usually less than the USPS increase (e.g. from $1.59 to $2.13 = $0.53 increase for books under 1 lb; from $2.07 to $2.47 = $0.40 for 1-2 lbs.; DC service increased too, etc.)
I can live without the email addresses but I am curious about the costs related to the sale. Will that still be included in the email? I don't believe they are mentioned. Do you know?
Amazon wants the cake and eat it too. Az says it's your sale and your customer but won't let us contact the customer unless it's on their terms. I'm going to wake up Az by sending them a 1099 for the comm. they charge since it is MY customer that they are a taking a cut of
I've started to raise my prices by 10% to help cover the extra costs they are charging.
