Patricia attended Northwestern University, where she earned a BA in English Composition and added a Masters in Journalism. After graduation, she was a sportswriter at the Rockford (Ill.) Register Star, Charlotte (N.C.) Observer, and the Washington Post.
A friend introduced her to the Washington, D.C., chapter of the Romance Writers of America, and Patricia began learning the craft of fiction writing. Her first romance, Hoops, was published in 1990 and was a finalist for RWA’s RITA Award.
Patrica is now a full-time writer living in Northern Kentucky. She’s published a non-fiction book on word usage — Word Watch: A Writer’s Guide to the Slippery, Sneaky, and Otherwise Tricky — and has started a mystery series with the pen name P.A. McLinn.
