With 19 novels and novellas in print, Dorien makes her home in Michigan. Before becoming a published author, she worked for several years as a commercial lawyer, but eventually returned to her old love, writing.
“Ultimately, I realized that while a legal career was lucrative, it was making me too ‘Type A’ to survive,” Dorien recalls. “Since I was tired of billing out my life by the quarter-hour and wearing pantyhose, I turned back to writing.”
Her first novel, a romantic comedy called Designs on Jake, was published by Harlequin in 2002. Recently she’s been co-authoring some quite satisfying novels with her pal Janet Evanovich, including Love in a Nutshell and The Husband List. Thank goodness she’s not billing by the hour anymore.
